What you’ll be working on

Are you a dedicated and experienced HSE professional looking to take on a dynamic role in a world-renowned organization? At FedEx Australia, we are seeking a Senior Health, Safety & Dangerous Goods Specialist to lead our commitment to safety excellence and compliance.

As our Senior HSE & DG Specialist, you will be at the forefront of our HSE initiatives and practices. Based at our Welshpool station, you will guide and implement HSE procedures and systems, ensuring that a "Safety Above All" culture becomes ingrained in our workplace.

  • Collaborate with the Leadership team to design and implement key HSE initiatives
  • Provide expert guidance during audit preparation, incident investigations, and training
  • Coach and support operational managers in safety planning and reporting
  • Monitor risk assessments, environmental impact assessments, inspections, and surveys
  • Lead significant risk assessments and serious Incident ICAM Investigations, and tracking corrective action reports
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs and toolbox talks
  • Provide detailed analysis of Incident performance and trends, and assist in developing strategies to reduce incidents
  • Engage key stakeholders, particularly on Heavy Vehicle National Law, Chain of Responsibility, and Dangerous Goods
  • Educate Leaders and Frontline Management teams on all facets of WHS, Dangerous Goods and CoR
  • Support stations in ISO and Comcare audits, maintaining ISO 18001 and ISO 14001 certification
  • Assist during regulatory visits and Notifiable Incidents, ensuring timely incident recording

What you will bring to the team:

  • At least 5 years HSE experience
  • Certificate 4 in WHS or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Lead Incident Investigator expertise (ICAM qualified or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in ISO standards, including 14001, 45001, and 9001
  • In-depth knowledge of Heavy Vehicle National Law and Dangerous Goods regulations highly regarded
  • Experience in a self-insurance environment and ISO Lead Auditor certification (preferred but not essential)
