About the role

As a Commercial Analytics Advisor, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and advice to senior/executive management on current and emerging systems trends, practices, opportunities and risks within area of expertise.

This will involve delivering marketing analysis, interpretation and application of complex information in order to influence optimal business growth decisions while leading high impact cross-functional projects and initiatives.

We are seeking someone future oriented who drives strategic planning, and influences and supports cross-functional project teams in order to achieve optimal results for the business.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Source data and information from internal or external subject matter experts as required
  • Determine and drive the divisional need for research as well as methods and procedures to be used
  • Driving new system development/implementation and lead functional change management
  • Conduct systematic in-depth market research and analysis into issues of varying complexity within technical/technological area of expertise
  • Initiate, define and lead the development and communication of effective market research reports to key stakeholders, including executive/senior management
  • Develop and maintain broad and in-depth knowledge of relevant FedEx standards, external requirements (including Regional regulations), and current/emerging system trends and best practices within area of expertise
  • Provide strategic advice on complex or unique issues
  • Develop new or innovative solutions to diverse, high impact, complex problems
  • Conduct detailed analysis and wider research, interpret complex information and generate recommendations to support strategic, divisional or corporate goals
  • Develops initiatives, proposals and business cases within areas of demand and analysing data to ensure opportunities are met.
  • Act as subject matter expert and shares knowledge with peers and management
  • Proactively identify and analyses risks, opportunities and constraints within area of expertise
  • Evaluate and present recommendations and actions, driving management decisions in high impacting cost yield management areas
  • Lead and/or contribute to the implementation to ensure results are realised
  • Lead high impact, divisional and corporate level projects and initiatives
  • Manage cross functional project teams and involves internal and external SMEs as required
  • Seek commitment of senior/executive management to project goals
  • Complete post-implementation review to identify lessons learned and recommend corrective actions
  • Develop and communicate tools and process for use by the wider business within area of expertise
  • Recommend improvements to processes as required
  • Develop, communicate, and enforce department policies and procedures
  • Identify, initiate and drive goal setting and planning activities
  • Coordinate cross functionally and across divisions to validate, negotiate, consolidate and communicate goals
  • Develop and present business plan for division or complex regional areas to senior/executive management Critically review business cases/plans across regions and divisions and identify leverage opportunities and cross-project dependencies
  • Advise Senior/Executive team of trends/changes and developments within area of expertise, along with recommended actions
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with defined FedEx processes and procedures, relevant legislation and external regulations, and predefined agreements
  • Include review of policies or standards to ensure compliance or design of new policies/ standards if appropriate
  • Build and develop effective relationships with senior/executive management, in order to influence optimal business outcomes and with other departments to achieve set goals
  • Maintain external alignments with customers, relevant subject matter experts (SMEs) or external bodies as required
  • Represent company in external organisations

Experience Required

  • At least five years of experience in Marketing or a similar quantitative business analysis, or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a major marketing research or strategic marketing, Finance/Economics, Engineering or related analytical field
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite & SQL
