Manager, National Sales
Lead one of Australia's most significant enterprise logistics portfolios and shape the future of sales at FedEx. Key Responsibility
In this dynamic role, you will transition away from routine dashboard tracking and focus on true strategic leadership. Your key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and execute high-impact national sales strategies to exceed revenue, margin, and market-share targets across express freight, logistics, and supply chain portfolios.
- Team Coaching & Development: Mentor and upskill account executives to foster a culture of accountability, trusted business advisors, and high performance.
- Portfolio & Contract Management: Oversee sophisticated customer contract strategies, direct complex multi-modal tender (RFP/RFQ) responses, and implement robust 12-month customer contact plans.
- Commercial Strategy & Yield Management: Support pricing, yield management, and business planning activities to optimize profitability across national accounts.
- AI & Tech Adoption: Drive the daily adoption of AI-powered productivity tools (for predictive forecasting, territory planning, personalized customer outreach, and reporting) and CRM platform utilization (Salesforce) to optimize sales pipeline efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Sales Analyst, Operations, Commercial, and Customer Experience teams to optimize account executives capacity and ensure seamless solution delivery.
What You’ll Bring (Key Selection Criteria)
To be successful in this role, you will be a commercially astute, forward-thinking leader who brings a combination of industry expertise and digital capability:
- Logistics & Freight Expertise: Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in enterprise sales or key account management within the transport, freight forwarding, express cargo, or supply chain logistics sector.
- Proven Leadership Track Record: Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and elevate high-performing national or regional sales teams to consistently hit growth targets.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong experience in complex contract negotiations, pricing models, yield management, and managing multi-million dollar portfolios.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in leveraging CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and analytics to forecast sales, identify market trends, and manage pipeline health.
- Proficiency in AI Tools: Demonstrate curiosity and willingness to leverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to improve sales effectiveness, customer engagement, forecasting, and productivity.
- Influencing & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to build credibility with C-suite clients and internal executive stakeholders.
- Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent senior-level professional experience.
