About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Operations Manager to support and enhance our national warehouse and transport operations. This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, strong customer outcomes, and effective cost control across warehousing and fleet operations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Operations, you will work closely with Operations, Sales, HR, and Customers to deliver safe, efficient, and high-performing logistics services while meeting key financial and service KPIs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee warehouse operations to meet customer requirements and KPI targets
  • Support national warehouses and transport stations to achieve on‑time delivery
  • Drive productivity, service quality and continuous improvement
  • Lead drivers, warehouse and admin teams (rosters, performance, training)
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and partner with HR on recruitment and retention
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, transport and fatigue regulations
  • Promote a strong safety culture and address incidents and risks
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance, compliance and vehicle allocation
  • Improve route planning, depot efficiency and transport performance
  • Work with Customers and Sales to deliver high service standards
  • Manage client issues, delays and escalations
  • Manage labour, fuel, ETIME and depot costs
  • Understand P&L drivers and meet weekly and monthly financial targets

 

What We Need

  • Full work rights in Australia
  • Ability to pass criminal history check
  • Proven leadership and people management experience in fast‑paced environments
  • Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities under pressure
  • Solid understanding of Chain of Responsibility, warehouse operations, and supply chain compliance
  • Strong organisational, time management and financial acumen to meet operational targets

 

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline.

 

Minimum Experience

At least five (5) years of relevant work experience.
